All Khalifa had wanted to do was let loose and rebel, however the fame was too much. She said the popularity spiraled uncontrollable once she started receiving death threats from ISIS.
“It didn't validate me. Nothing like that ever does. That's not what you need to be doing to attempt to build your self-esteem,” Khalifa said.
While she can't get the original copies of her videos taken down, Khalifa said she includes a legal team that cleans up fake accounts that re-post content online.
Khalifa said she worked as a bookkeeper for a development firm and as a paralegal in Miami, but she was too recognizable.
After six months, Khalifa stopped wanting to downplay her internet fame and opt to move to Austin, where she's since re-branded herself and attemptedto pursue other careers.
Former porn star Mia Khalifa urged her followers on social media: "Girls, don't do this. It's not worth every penny," she said, regarding having a career in the adult film industry.
Khalifa has been using Twitter, TikTok and Instagram to speak with her fans in regards to the comments and attacks she receives, although she dropped out of adult movies six years ago.
